Boxes and Toys

I know I said I was going to try to post at least once a week.  But nothing exciting has happened to me since New Years.  And it just feels weird talking about mundane happenings.  Except for the past week, I have been playing with some of the cool mousie toys that some Angel Scouts sent me.  Most of them have wound up under the stove, too far for Daddy to retrieve them for me.  So I have come back to playing with the boxes Daddy has left around the apartment.  What a lot of hoomins don’t realize is that with just a little ingenuity we can be quite happy with just boxes.

Back when Daddy first adopted me, he laid out money for my pottybox and it’s filling along with my Food tray and food with some treats. Also a carrier.  He didn’t have a lot of money left for other things.  So he found a couple boxes and adapted them to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for the cushiony hidey box I received from an Angel Scout for Christmas, But Daddy did what he could for me with little resources.  And I was very happy with them.  It just showed how much Daddy loved me and wanted to make me happy.

So I guess what I’m saying here is to any hoomins that may be reading this, you can make your furrfriend happy just with boxes.  You can have a couple laying around the floor for your kitty to jump into, or if you are really industrious, you can find several very sturdy boxes and make a pyramid for your kitty to climb. You don’t always have to spend money on store bought toys.

Until next time

With Love, Foxy

  1. You’re absolutely right! We kitties actually are quite happy with not just plain boxes, but other household things as toys. One of my favorite is a wooden spoon Mom gave me when she got some new ones. I love ribbons and rope too. Spending money isn’t necessary for us to have some fun – having a resourceful human taking care of us helps though!!! LOL

  2. So right Sweetie..we have lots of toys but still purr-fur to play with dust bunnies and fluff MOL…paw pats Dinnermintz xx pee ees all we ever talk about iz mundane stuff MOL…;)

  3. Tell Daddy to clean out under the stove with a yard stick or the handle from a broom or mop. Our Mom has to do that several times a year and then we have lots of toys for a while. Until Felix knocks them under the laundry room door! Dumpling, Ladybug, Felix, Bella and Lugosi.

  4. You are right. My favourite toy is when a leaf blows indoors, or a little piece of wood drops off one of the logs when dad brings them in for the fire. I play for ages with things like that.

  5. Yep Foxy and we luv da milk jug rings too. Most kitties do. Long rime ago, mommy spent way too much munny on these plastic fings dat wuz nuffin’ more than glowified milk jug rings. Well she ain’t dun dat again. MOL Aaaaw we played wiff ’em and all but we kep playin’ wiff da plain old milk jug rings too. 6. You bet Foxy. Nothing like a nice box to lounge and play in. I like to see if I fit into the smallest boxes. That is so much fun and lots of times Dad gives us a nice brown bag too. Dad leaves them out until they are shredded. MOL

  7. Boxes are the best for sure. They have so many possibilities. That is nice that you are going to try and post at least once a week. I will talk to my mom about that and maybe she could do that too. Thanks for stopping by and sharing my birthday with me.
