A little history

I thought I would share with all of you a little bit of my history on how I came to be with my Human.  It may not be interesting to you, but it is very interesting to me.  😀

A few years ago Daddy’s back gave out and he couldn’t work anymore.  He wound up at the VA hospital before he got his disability approved.  He found a place to live but they didn’t allow pets.  It took a long time but Daddy got a special dispensation to be allowed to have a mental health animal, because he was suffering from a deep depression.  He always knew that he wanted another kitty, having grown up in a home with a cat.

So when he went looking he checked out the local SPCA shelter and their satellite stores on his computer.  He decided that he wanted an older animal because he couldn’t chase after a kitten all that well with his problems.  He wanted a kitty that was a little more settled.  He found my profile at Lollypop Farm, which is the main campus of the SPCA here in Rochester.  One of the main reasons he decided on me is because I was adopted out and returned to Lollypop four times, because the other people couldn’t handle me.  His heart broke at my story so he searched for me when he walked into the cat area.  When he couldn’t find me he asked one of the volunteers and found out I was hanging out in the infirmary.  That worried him, but the only reason I was there was because I wasn’t getting along with the other kitties as well as I should have.  🙂  I know I’m a bad kitty, but in the infirmary I had the whole counter to myself and didn’t have to share a small cage with any other kitty.  hehehe  All the volunteers were sad to see me go, because they all loved me.  But when I saw Daddy for the first time I knew I was going to enjoy living with him.  He brought me home in November 2013 a week before Thanksgiving.  That was my Thanksgiving — Finding my forever home with my Daddy.  I couldn’t ask for a greater human to live with.  Foxy Snowflakes                                                                                                                         This picture is from last year.  Since Daddy and I live in an apartment building on the 12th floor, I am a fully indoor kitty.  In this picture Daddy caught me chasing snow flakes falling outside.  I know you can’t see them in the picture, but trust me they were there, and taunting me .  🙂

That’s my story in a nutshell.  I will see you again.

With Love,

Foxy

  1. What a great story Foxy……you and your Dad were MEANT to find each other and be with each other. I think kitties find their humans rather than the other way around. You kept coming back to the shelter because you just KNEW there was a special guy out there and you needed to live with him and not one of those other people!!! FINALLY he showed up at your shelter and the rest is “history” !!!! I’m glad you will be together for your second Christmas and I hope you have a wonderful one…………….by the way, chasing snowflakes is fun isn’t it? Especially from INSIDE where it’s nice and warm!

    1. Fun yes, but a little discouraging. You chase and chase, but you’re never able to catch them. But you are right, being warm and dry is a very big plus when it comes to chasing snow flakes. MOL

  6. Hi Foxy, it’s nice to meet you. I heard about you from Sammy so came over to say hello. We don’t often get snow here, but I like to go out in our secure garden and walk in it when we do get some. I live on a farm but am not allowed to roam around on my own so I go for walks in the fields with my mum.

  7. Hi Foxy. You have a really great story. I know when I saw Dad I needed to purr on the kitty charm as I was taken as a “trial to see if he fits in with my 21 year old Inky.” Yeah right! MOL. I am so glad you have started blogging and see a lot of my pals here already. See you at Scouts
